About

A little abou me and this blog. Well I started out as a player…you may have guessed…and I mean that in a gambling sense, not the “playa” sense. Although I aspire. LOL. I grew up with fruit machines, moved on to the horses, albeit briefly when I realised the ones with 4 legs always won, and then via a dabble with stocks and shares and onto online casinos. Stopping off in Vegas on the way.

My main passion is slots, although I enjoy high variance video poker too for that matter. Why slots? Well, basically I prefer the adrenaline rush and expectation of playing for that “big win”. I can’t be doing with all this Blackjack stuff where you stake x to win 2x…it just doesn’t cut it for me. But part of that is because I play largely for entertainment and if I win, great. If I was out to try and win slowly and steadily then perhaps the table games might appeal more. Nah…I’d still get bored stupid.

When I say “high variance” - that means high risk. Slots vary in this aspect as does VP. You either play games with small, regular wins, or you go for streaky (risky) games where you can go 100’s of spins with virtually f*** all but then, every now and again, you win big. If you know where your limits are, know when to cashout or stop your losses, high variance is the dogs b*ll*cks for entertainment. If you can’t stop, then be careful….low variance games may be a better bet. If you want to know which online slots are low or high variance, you can search on this aspect at the Slotjunkies slots site. That’s one of mine…which neatly leads me into…

…affiliation. After a year or so of playing and losing a little bit more than I wanted to, I stumbled on affiliation. Basically, casinos and poker rooms usually allow webmasters to sign up and promote them, taking a cut of commissions or flat payment per player (known as “CPA”). So I thought, why not? Give it a go and use any money I earn to play with. Keep the salary for all the boring stuff like mortgages, electricity bills and prostitutes….you know, the everyday stuff we all need.

And so I did…created a website, did some reviews based on my experiences, whacked it up and….nothing. For about 9 months, but then a steady trickle, and then a bit more and 4 years down the line? It’s now meant I’ve packed in my day job and do this full time…taking my experiences, writing blogs, reviews, anything. This blog being an example.

And I still play - but there came a time when the affiliate earnings far outstripped what I considered a decent purse for casual gambling! I’m in the process of writing up “How To…” guides on becoming a casino affiliate so if you fancy trying it yourself, I’d read up on what I learned and use it your advantage.
